WTC Final 2023: Greg Chappell feels ‘Virat Kohli will make notable difference’ vs Australia

Ahead of the World Test Championship, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has got the backing from Australian great and Ex-India’s head coach Greg Chappell. The 34-year-old Indian cricketer is coming off an incredible IPL 2023 season and looking to make most of his current form in the summit-clash against Australia.

Virat is fresh off his last two back-to-back centuries in IPL 202, where he amassed 639 runs in 14 innings. Kohli also has brilliant numbers against Australia as the top-order batter has scored 1979 runs at an average of 48.26. He also has 8 centuries including 186 in Ahmedabad during the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, earlier this year.

While speaking to Boria Majumdar at Backstage with Boria, quoted by Sportskeeda, Chappell said;

“Virat loves to bat against the Australians. We have seen that in Australia. His record is evidence of how good he is. He loves a contest and is never on to back off from one. The Oval from all of my experience is going to have bounce and it will suit Virat.”

The Aussie legend further claimed that Virat Kohli will get enough runs on board to make a notable difference in the game. The India versus Australia, WTC Final 2023 will start on June 7 at The Oval.
