WATCH: Yogi Adityanath Hits Back At Akhilesh Yadav Over Bulldozer Remark
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday fired back at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav’s recent comment that “all bulldozers will turn towards Gorakhpur” after the 2027 UP elections.
Adityanath asserted that not everyone is equipped to handle a bulldozer, emphasizing that it requires both “brains and courage.”
Speaking at a government job appointment letter distribution event in Lucknow, Adityanath remarked, “Not everyone’s hands can fit on a bulldozer. It takes both brains and courage. Only those with the stamina and resilience of a bulldozer can operate one.”
Akhilesh Yadav, addressing party workers on Tuesday, had claimed that the Samajwadi Party would oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in UP in 2027, with Gorakhpur, Adityanath’s stronghold, becoming the focus of their efforts.
Yadav responded to Adityanath’s retort by stating, “Driving a bulldozer requires control over the steering wheel, not brains,” adding that “one never knows when the higher-ups in UP and Delhi will change the steering wheel.“
Yadav also criticized the UP government’s use of bulldozers, claiming it was driven by ego, and noted that the courts have challenged the state’s bulldozer actions.
He questioned whether the government would apologize for its approach.
