WATCH: Netanyahu Addresses UN General Assembly, Vows to Continue Fight Against Hebollah And Hamas
In a powerful address at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel must persist in its fight for survival against what he termed “savage murderers” bent on its destruction.
“My country is at war, fighting for its life,” he asserted, emphasizing the existential threat posed by its adversaries.
Netanyahu’s remarks coincided with ongoing Israeli military strikes against Iran-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, raising concerns that the conflict could escalate into a broader regional war.
He attributed the tensions to Iran, highlighting that Israel is engaged in defensive actions across multiple fronts against Tehran’s influence.
“There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach, and that’s true for the entire Middle East,” he stated, commending Israeli soldiers for their courage in the face of adversity. His comments were met with applause from some delegates, though representatives from Iran walked out in protest.
The Prime Minister emphasized Israel’s commitment to minimizing civilian casualties, stating, “No army has done what Israel is doing to minimize civilian casualties: we drop flyers, we send text messages, we make phone calls by the millions to ensure that Palestinian civilians get out of harm’s way.”

Netanyahu concluded on a defiant note, proclaiming, “We are winning,” and indicated that discussions regarding potential ceasefire proposals for Lebanon would continue in the coming days. Meanwhile, the United States warned that further escalation in the conflict could complicate efforts for civilians on both sides to safely return home.
