The Academy’s recent Instagram post paid tribute to the timeless 1995 film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (DDLJ), featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
The post, showcasing the iconic song ‘Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna,’ has evoked nostalgia among fans. Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ is a cherished Indian classic celebrated for the epic love saga of Raj and Simran.

DDLJ holds the distinction of being the longest-running film in Indian cinema history, with continuous screenings at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre for over 27 years. The film also features Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
Shah Rukh Khan had a stellar 2023, delivering three blockbuster movies – “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Dunki,” all of which enjoyed tremendous success at the box office.
