Uncertainty Surrounds Gujarat Titans And Coach Ashish Nehra Ahead of IPL Auction
Gujarat Titans are facing uncertainty not only in franchise management but also with their coaching staff, including head coach Ashish Nehra. With the IPL mega auction approaching later this year, there is speculation that the team’s owner, CVC Capital, may revamp the coaching lineup.
Insiders suggest that the GT management, which operates across the UK, Mumbai, and Singapore, is considering changes to its coaching staff.
This includes Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki, head coach Ashish Nehra, and mentor Gary Kirsten, who has already left to join the Pakistan team.
Despite the team’s success, including winning the IPL title in 2022 and finishing as runners-up in 2023, changes seem likely.
While Solanki might retain his position, Nehra’s future appears uncertain. Notably, his visibility during matches decreased in the 2024 season, fueling speculation about his position.
Regarding ownership rumors, any potential change from CVC to Torrent Pharma or the Adani Group would likely be delayed until after the mandatory three-year lock-in period, meaning CVC Capital will likely oversee the upcoming season and auction in December.
