Tamim Iqbal Withdraws Retirement After Bangaldesh PM Intervenes: Report

Hours after timely intervention from Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal has withdrawn his resignation and will continue to lead the side in a bilateral series against Afghanistan.

Notably, Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Nazmul Hassan on Friday urged the Bangaldesh’s prolific cricketer to withdraw his resignation, terming Tamim as an ‘important member’ in the squad.

We will discuss things after the series. I said that legendary cricketer should not take such a decision. He is an important member of the side. Nafees said that he conveyed the message, but there was no reply. I have to wait for his response, I am hopeful that he will contact me,” he was quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
