She worked it all out on her own, started in her 40s: Shah Rukh Khan on Gauri Khan starting her own business

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan on Monday, accompanied his wife Gauri Khan at the launch event of her new coffee table book, My Life in Design.

Notably, the book contains several pictures of the couple’s Mumbai mansion, Mannat. At the event, Shah Rukh Khan spoke highly of his wife, and ‘thanked’ her for playing her part in his journey to stardom.

“At 40, she started doing this. I told her, ‘Should I be helpful, I have some friends, we can talk to them,’ and said no.’ She started a small 10 feet by 20 feet shop somewhere in Lower Parel. And she worked it all out on her own, and continued doing what she does,” Khan added.

Shahrukh further revealed that his wife is the ‘busiest person in the house’ and that he often asks her why she works so much. “Every time I ask her this question, she tells me that her work satisfies her. Everybody must learn that part from her, following one’s dreams is possible at any stage in life,” he added.
