Senior BJP Leader L K Advani Hospitalized Again In Delhi’s Apollo Hospital
Indian javelin thrower Kishore Jena has spoken about the much-anticipated rivalry between Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem, assuring fans that the competition between the two athletes remains friendly.
As the Paris Olympics approach, the clash between Chopra and Nadeem in the men’s javelin event is eagerly awaited, with both athletes having consistently pushed each other to excel.
The rivalry between the Indian and Pakistani stars gained momentum after they secured the top two positions at the World Championships in August 2023. Unfortunately, fans missed the chance to witness their showdown at the Asian Games due to Nadeem’s withdrawal from the event due to injury. Now, the stage is set for them to reignite their competition at the Olympics, with Jena providing insights into their relationship.
In an interview with ANI, Jena emphasized that there is no animosity between Chopra and Nadeem. “No, it’s not like that. Since it’s the Olympics, a lot of countries have come. We don’t think like that. It is friendly when we meet them. I also meet them. There is no such intention,” Jena stated, dispelling any notion of tension.
Jena also praised Chopra, highlighting his positive impact on Indian athletics. “You know how much Indian athletics has grown because of Neeraj bhai. Everyone has high hopes for him. It feels good that he is with us. He is staying with us. We wish him well,” Jena said.
Looking ahead to the qualifiers, Jena expressed confidence in his preparation and vowed to give his best performance. “Preparation is very good, and we are getting a lot of support from here. It will be good. I will give my best tomorrow. I will play like a finalist. It is my first time, so I will give 100 percent,” he affirmed.
The javelin qualifying round is among the initial events for the Indian contingent, with Jena competing in Group A and Chopra in Group B on Tuesday.
