Raebareli Calls You: Priyanka Posters Put Up In Congress Bastion Ahead Of LS Polls
RAEBARELI: Supporters of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress’s general secretary, have erected posters in Raebareli urging her to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the party’s stronghold in Uttar Pradesh.
The posters carry the message, “Rae Bareli calls you, Priyanka Gandhi ji, please answer.”
Additionally, the posters emphasize the importance of advancing Congress’s developmental initiatives.
Since 2004, the Raebareli seat has been held by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.
The clamor for Priyanka Gandhi’s candidacy in this Congress stronghold amplified following her mother Sonia Gandhi’s recent announcement citing “health and age concerns” for not contesting the upcoming elections.
In an open letter, Sonia Gandhi conveyed, “With this decision, I won’t have the opportunity to serve you directly, but my dedication remains steadfast.”
On February 19, Sonia Gandhi was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan after filing her nomination in Jaipur on February 14, subsequent to her decision not to contest the Lok Sabha polls.
