Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 Likely To Become Becoming India’s Biggest Opener On Day 1
Entertainment: The much-anticipated sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is now slated for an earlier release on December 5, 2024.
Directed by Sukumar, the film is projected to achieve an astounding ₹270 crore on its global opening day, fueled by substantial contributions from both domestic and international audiences.
According to Sacnilk.com, early box office predictions for Pushpa 2 across India are as follows:
- Andhra Pradesh/Telangana: ₹85 crore
- Karnataka: ₹20 crore
- Tamil Nadu: ₹12 crore
- Kerala: ₹8 crore
- Rest of India: ₹75 crore
With a cumulative domestic opening of ₹200 crore and an additional ₹70 crore expected from overseas markets, Pushpa 2 is positioned to set a new benchmark in global box office collections on day one.
The film strategically opens on a Thursday, offering it an uninterrupted solo day for maximum audience reach. Alongside Allu Arjun, the movie features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, continuing Pushpa Raj’s saga as he strives to maintain control over the red sanders smuggling trade.
The hype around Pushpa 2 has prompted changes in other release schedules. The makers of Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, are reportedly rescheduling to avoid a clash.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh commended the decision, emphasizing that Pushpa 2’s multilingual release and massive following could overshadow other films, making it advantageous for competitors to steer clear of the release window.
