Olympic Legend Usain Bolt Backs West Indies To Win T20 World Cup 2024
Usain Bolt, an eight-time Olympic champion and passionate cricket enthusiast, has expressed his support for his home country, the West Indies, to become the first nation to win three T20 World Cup titles as the competition begins next month.
Bolt believes the Caribbean team has overcome their challenges, citing their historic Test series win in Australia in January, their first in 27 years.
The world’s fastest man is confident that the West Indies can build on their 2012 and 2006 T20 World Cup victories as they co-host this year’s tournament with the United States. The final will take place in Barbados on June 29.
“I will always support my home team. We have some big hitters, and if we get it right, the West Indies can definitely win,” Bolt said on Wednesday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. The former champions will kick off their campaign against Papua New Guinea on June 2 in Guyana.
Additionally, Bolt has promised the American audience an unforgettable experience. “The energy that cricket brings, the vibes, and the noise are just wonderful. It’s something different that you’ll never see,” Bolt added.
