No Lungis and Nighties? Greater Noida Housing society imposes strict dress code, faces protest

Greater Noida: The owner’s association of Greater Noida has come up with a unique dress code for its residence in common areas.

The notice for the residents of Himsagar Apartment of Greater Noida, Phi 2, has barred people from wearing lungis and nighties in the common areas of the housing complex.

In the notice issued on June 10, the association categorically instructed the residents not to venture outside their flats ‘wearing lungi and nightie.’

“…pay attention to your behavior and appearance so nobody’s has issued with it. Even your daughters and sons learn from you. Therefore, everyone is requested not to roam wearing lungi and mighty (six), which are home wear,” read the notice.

Meanwhile, residents have raised objection to the notice but the association has backed its circular stating that it received complaints from the residents.
