Mukesh Chhabra On Why Ranbir Kapoor Was Cast As Lord Ram In Ramayana
Ranbir Kapoor, renowned for his roles in films like Rockstar and Sanju, is set to portray Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated adaptation of Ramayana.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently discussed Kapoor’s casting in a podcast, highlighting his serene demeanor as a key factor.
Chhabra praised Tiwari’s decision, noting that Kapoor’s calm presence is crucial for the role, and promised that audiences will appreciate this choice once the film is released.

Chhabra, who has collaborated with Kapoor on several successful projects including Tamasha and Brahmastra, emphasized the actor’s exceptional talent and his balanced approach to his career, unaffected by the highs and lows of film success.
He also shared insights into the casting process for Ramayana, stating that it involves an honest evaluation of actors’ suitability for the roles rather than any manipulative tactics.
Additionally, Chhabra hinted that casting for Ramayana: Part Two is underway and suggested that a Hanuman spin-off might be in development as a potential third installment of the saga.
The cast of Ramayana also includes Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
