Modi, Biden Discuss Ukraine Peace Efforts And Safety Of Hindus In Bangladesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Joe Biden held a telephonic conversation on Monday, focusing on critical global and regional issues, particularly the ongoing crises in Ukraine and Bangladesh.
PM Modi shared insights from his recent visit to Ukraine, where he met President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He reaffirmed India’s commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy, expressing strong support for restoring peace and stability in the war-affected nation. “I reiterated India’s full support for an early return to peace,” Modi posted on X after the call.
During the seven-hour visit, Modi urged Kyiv and Moscow to engage in talks without delay, offering India’s readiness to mediate peace efforts in the region.
The discussion also addressed the escalating political unrest in Bangladesh. Modi emphasized the importance of swiftly restoring normalcy and ensuring the safety of minorities, particularly Hindus, amid the ongoing violent clashes.
