LS Polls: AAP-Congress Confirms Seat Sharing In Delhi, Haryana, Goa, Gujarat And Chandigarh – Key Details
NEW DELHI: Amidst challenges faced by the INDIA bloc, the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have successfully resolved their differences to establish a seat-sharing agreement in several key states for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Seat-Sharing Pact in Delhi
During a press conference held in New Delhi, representatives from AAP including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, Sandeep Pathak, and Congress’s Mukul Wasnik, Deepak Babaria, and Arvinder Singh Lovely announced a four-three seat-sharing arrangement in Delhi. AAP will contest four seats, while Congress will vie for three.
Constituency Allocation in Delhi
AAP is slated to contest in South Delhi, New Delhi, West Delhi, and Northwest Delhi constituencies, whereas Congress will focus on East Delhi, Northeast Delhi, and Chandni Chowk.
BJP Dominance in Delhi
It’s noteworthy that BJP currently holds all seven seats in the national capital, each with a substantial vote share exceeding 50%.
Seat Distribution in Other States
In Haryana, Congress will contest nine seats while AAP secures Kurukshetra. AAP will also vie for seats in Bhavnagar and Bharuch in Gujarat. Additionally, Congress will compete in Chandigarh and two seats in Goa.
