2024 Lok Sabha Election: Sanjay Raut Feels Priyanka Gandhi Can Defeat PM Modi From Varanasi

Mumbai: As 2024 Lok Sabha election is just few months away and the political atmosphere is warming up, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut (Uddhav Thackeray group) has pitched Priyanka Gandhi should contest 2024 Lok Sabha election from Varanasi.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the current MP from the Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and has garnered comprehensive votes twice in 2014 and 2019.

As quoted by the Hindustan Times, Sanjay Raut said;

“Varanasi people want Priyanka Gandhi. The fight for Rae Bareli, Varanasi and Amethi is tough for BJP. People must stand with Rahul Gandhi. It’s my view, if Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi fights from Varanasi against PM Narendra Modi then she will win for sure,” he said.

Lok Sabha election 2014: Congress fielded Ajay Rai

In 2014, reports suggested that Congress would field Priyanka Gandhi from Varanasi but later party put Ajay Rai against Narendra Modi.

The party claimed that Priyanka herself decided not to contest from Varanasi.
