Karnataka CM: Siddaramaiah gets backing from Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi extends support to DK Shivkumar – Report

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Siddharamaiah is reportedly getting much-needed backing from Rahul Gandhi and majority of others in the party’s leadership and most likely to be crowned Karnataka CM in next few hours.


India Today has reported that Congress top leadership is divided over the two heavyweights in the state. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, All India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal are backing Siddharamaiah for the CM’s post.


Also, majority of the MLAs are vouching for Siddharamaiah. Meanwhile, Karnataka. Meanwhile, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief DK Shivkumar is getting support from former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

India Today has reported that Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has not expressed whom he is supporting. Notably, Congress has given the responsibility to Kharge to choose either of the two for the Karnataka chief minister’s post.


A day after Siddaramaiah arrived in the national capital, DK Shivkumar too reached Delhi on Tuesday to meet Congress top-brass.
