KANPUR | 98 deaths due to heart attack in 7 days, 14 in 24 hours. Check details

Shocking figures have emerged from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, as close to 98 deaths have been reported due to heart and brain attack, from January 1 to 7. Meanwhile, 14 died – 8 brought dead while 6 succumbed – in Kanpur’s SPS Heart Institute, on January 7.

According to the statistics provided by LPS Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, in Kanpur 50 deceased were above the age of 60, while 18 were below 40.

More than 4,862 patients, with a complaint of heart pain, have been admitted in either emergency or OPD ward at Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiologist and Cardiac Surgery, in Kanpur.

LPS Director Dr. Vinay Krishna has revealed that most of the deceased were the patients of diabetes, and blood pressure.

“Those who are diabetic or suffering from blood pressure, must take extra precautions in the winter season. They should immediately consult with their doctors and take medications accordingly. Must keep a tablet of disprin and take it with boiling water in an emergency,” Dr. Krishna said.

According to the Indian Heart Association, 50 percent heart attack cases belong to patients below 50-years of age, while in 25 percent cases patients are below 40. The findings of the World Health Organisation has stated that 12 percent people in urban cities, and 10 percent in rural areas have some sort of heart issues.
