Some fresh jolts to Congress in recent past-:
As speculation swirls about Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath joining the BJP, it’s worth noting that this potential move follows closely on the heels of another high-profile Congress departure.
Just days ago, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan ended his four-decade association with the party and switched allegiance to the BJP.
Here’s a recap of Chavan’s move:
- February 12th: Chavan resigns from all Congress party posts and his MLA position.
- February 13th: He officially joins the BJP.
- February 15th: Chavan files his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Chavan’s departure wasn’t an isolated incident. Other prominent Congress leaders from Maharashtra, like Baba Siddique (joined the NCP) and Milind Deora (joined the Shiv Sena), have also recently left the party.
