It’s completely his call: CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan on MS Dhoni’s knee surgery

Days after MS Dhoni clinched 5th IPL title on Tuesday, May 31 by beating Gujarat Titans in a last-ball thriller, reports confirmed that CSK skipper will be seeking expert opinion from sports orthopaedics on Mumbai on the state of his left knee.

The development has been confirmed by the CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan on Wednesday. Notably, Dhoni had played the entire IPL season with strapped left knee but didn’t let that affect his performance during cash-rich league. He extracted best of the results while keeping with wickets, and smashed some incredible sixes while batting.

While speaking to the PTI, Kasi Vishwanathan said;

“It’s true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out. It will be completely his call.”

Amid speculations over his retirement from Indian Premier League, MS Dhoni confirmed his available for the next season as he said that he would try his best to come back for his fans. In response to his presence in the IPL 2024, Kasi said that the franchise management is not thinking on that line.

Frankly, we are not even thinking along those lines as we haven’t reached that stage. It will be completely Dhoni’s call. But I can tell you, in CSK, we haven’t entertained those thoughts,” Kasi said.
