IT minister pulls up What’s App for using wrong Indian map, company assures to be ‘mindful’

Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology Rajeev Chandrashekhar pulled up What’s App for streaming incorrect Indian map on Twitter.

“Dear Whatsapp – Request that you please fix the India map error as soon as possible,” Mr. Chandrashekhar tweeted.

Notably, What’s App posted a video about a New Year eve featuring a globe with an incorrect Indian map in regards with the Jammu & Kashmir region.

The minister further suggested all the company who do business in India, ‘must had correct maps.’

Soon after Mr. Chandrashekhar schooled Whats App, company acknowledged the mistake from their end and assured to be ‘mindful in future.’

“Thank you Minister for pointing out the unintended error; we have promptly removed the stream, apologies. We will be mindful in the future, the company wrote on Twitter,” What’s App tweeted.
