IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad Appoints Daniel Vettori As Head Coach; Sacks Brain Lara

IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad has replaced head coach Brian Lara with Daniel Vettori ahead of the IPL 2024.

Notably, Vettori will be the fourth head coach appointed by the franchise after Tom Moody (2013-19 and 2022), Trevor Bayliss (2020-21) and Brian Lara (2023).

Vettori is currently coaching Birmingham Pheonix in the men’s Hundred tournament. The New Zealander is also coaching Australia in the capacity of the spin-bowling coach.

IPL experience of Daniel Vettori

Vettori had earlier coached Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014-18 and guided the franchise to the playoffs in 2015 and team ended runners-up in 2016.

Apart from SRH, RCB has also ended their long-standing association with Mike Hesson and batting coach Sanjay Bangar to rope in Andy Flower.

Flower was with the Lucknow Super Giants till IPL 2023, before he was replaced by the former Australia coach Justin Langer.
