Can You Normal Muslim Character In Your Shows: Internet User Asks Zoya Akhtar; Director Reacts

Renowned director Zoya Akhtar was recently asked by one of the Insta user if ‘she can normalise any Muslim character in her shows. “One positive story that is not oppressed,” an Internet user asked the director.

Notably, Zoya Akhtar’s Made in Heaven 2 started streaming on Amazon Prime and the director is receiving mixed response from the audience.

A user commented to one of the Zoya Akhtar’s Insta post and asked her to normalise a Muslim character in her show, probably hinting towards Dia Mirza’s character in Episode 6 titled ‘The Warrior Princess’ in the show.

In response, Zoya listed out names of her Muslim characters from her previous projects.

“Zaffar Khan and Tanveer in Luck By Chance. Imran and Laila in ZNMD. Farah Ali in Dil Dhadakne Do. Practically everyone in Gully Boy. Sarfaraz Khan and Leila Shirazi, Kabir, Faiza and Nawab have in made in heaven,” he wrote. Check out her reaction here.
