The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team will embark on a five-match Test series against England next year, starting on June 20, 2025, at Headingley in Leeds.
The second Test is set for July 2–6 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, followed by three red-ball matches at Lord’s (July 10–14), Manchester (July 23–27), and The Oval (July 31–August 4). The BCCI confirmed the venues and dates on August 22 via social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Here’s the schedule-:
Match | Dates | Venue |
---|---|---|
1st Test | June 20-24 | Headingley, Leeds |
2nd Test | July 2-6 | Edgbaston, Birmingham |
3rd Test | July 10-14 | Lord’s, London |
4th Test | July 23-27 | Old Trafford, Manchester |
5th Test | July 31-August 4 | The Oval, London |
India will seek to end a long-standing drought in England, having last won a Test series there in 2007 under the leadership of Rahul Dravid.
The upcoming series will also mark the beginning of India’s 2025–27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
India’s last Test tour to England in 2021–22 saw a 2-2 series draw, missing out on a potential series win. Headingley, the venue for the first Test, has been a fortress for England in recent years, with the hosts winning their last five Tests there.
India’s last victory at this venue came in 2002, making the series opener a significant challenge for Rohit Sharma and his men.
