Guyana: Nicholas Pooran-starrer West Indies has taken 2-0 lead in the five match T20 international series against India on Sunday, 6 August at Providence Stadium, in Guyana.

While chasing 152, West Indies had a horrific start as they were reduced to 2-2 (0.4) but Nicholas Pooran’s blistering knock of 67 runs in just 44 deliveries kept West Indies in the game.

However, Yuzvendra Chahal troubled host by hunting down two Shimron Hetmyer (22 off 22) and Jason Holder (0 off 0) to bring India in the game.

Match was perfectly poised in balance as India had reduced West Indies to 129/8 in 16 overs, but Akeal Hosein (16 off 10) and Alzari Joseph (10 off 8) stitched match-winning stand in the middle to take their side home.

Earlier, Tilak Varma, playing his 2nd T20 international smashed his maiden fifty in the format but got no support from any batters due to which India was restricted at 152/7 in 20 overs.

For West Indies, Akeal Hosein, Alzari Joseph and Romario Shepherd picked two wickets each in the 1st innings.

Nicholas Pooran was adjudged Player of the Match for his spectacular batting. With that win, West Indies has taken 2-0 lead and India needs to win each remaining game to clinch the series.
