Here’s Why Arvind Kejriwal Skipped 6th ED Summon In Liquor Policy Case
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once again disregarded a sixth summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday regarding the Delhi excise policy case, maintaining his stance of non-compliance with the ED’s inquiries.
This action has prompted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to reiterate its position on the matter.
In a formal statement, the AAP reiterated its contention that the summonses issued by the ED are without legal basis and urged the agency to respect the judicial process.
“Given that the ED itself has initiated court proceedings,” the party emphasized, “rather than persistently issuing summonses, it should defer to the decision of the court.”
Kejriwal had previously rejected five summonses issued since November 2023, characterizing them as politically motivated and unlawful. The latest summons, dated February 14th, had stipulated his appearance today, February 19th.
