UAE-based Ducab Group marked yet another milestone in its long-standing relationship with India as it supplies 140km of medium voltage cables for the Lucknow Metro project in Uttar Pradesh in India. The Lucknow project underlines Ducab’s global expansion strategy, particularly in the Asian transport sector. In a candid conversation with The Quotes, Mohammad Al Mutawa, CEO of Ducab Group stated that Ducab has been supplying to the Indian market since 1988, with its first project being the Nhava Sheva Port (Mumbai Port).

“While Ducab has been present in India’s copper and aluminium business for more than ten years, supplying 263,000MT of (cubic equivalent) cu. Eq. of metals to the market; this is equivalent to powering approximately 3 million houses. Ducab is also increasing its focus on sustainable energy to drive further growth and international expansion. This includes providing the most innovative and sustainable energy solutions available in the market today, as the entire world is currently focusing on mitigating climate change through de-carbonization,” said Mr. Al Mutawa.

The CEO of Ducab Group further stated that India is a truly global marketplace and an industrial powerhouse.

“It also opens competitive options for finding the best value products and materials, especially when it comes to those needed for the nation’s infrastructure projects. Ducab has been supplying to the Indian market since 1988, with its first project being the Nhava Sheva Port (Mumbai),” added Mr. Al Mutawa.

According to Mr. Al Mutawa, the group manufactures specialist cables such as nuclear cables, solar cables etc., and customizes cables based on the needs and requirements of the customers.

“Our products are manufactured in UAE and supplied to over 55 countries worldwide. Ducab has associated itself with flagship projects such as Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (2020 and 2021) through Johnson Controls, Delhi Metro, Kanpur Metro in India and the Bandaranaike International Airport expansion project in Sri Lanka, among others,” added Mr Al Mutawa.

Stressing the growing demand for sustainable energy in the global market, Mr. Al Mutawa informed that Ducab Group is increasing its focus on sustainable energy to drive further growth and international expansion.

Emphasizing the UAE-India ties, the Group’s CEO informed that Ducab is aligned with the recent UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by supplying to projects mainly in mobility transport, Metro rail projects, airports, building construction, Data Centres, and nuclear power plants.

“The Indian market is one of the largest targets, where we have observed increased interest, and to which we continue to give significant attention. The company’s production capacity allows it to serve more customers with better response time, offering them an integrated supply chain and high-quality products coupled with smart financial instruments. All of these features have given us the advantage to expand further into India and other markets,” concluded Mr. Al Mutawa.
