England To Host World Test Championship Finals: The Oval In 2023, Lord’s In 2025
The venues for the upcoming two finals of the World Test Championship (WTC) have been announced. England will host both these matches at historic stadiums in London.
The WTC 2023 Final is scheduled to take place at ‘The Oval,’ while the WTC 2025 Final will be hosted at ‘Lord’s.’
England previously hosted the WTC Final in 2021 at the ‘Rose Bowl’ stadium in Southampton, where India and New Zealand competed.
In that final match, New Zealand emerged victorious over India, claiming the championship.
The WTC 2023 Final is set to be held in June, featuring the top two teams from the WTC Points Table for 2021-23.
Currently, Australia and South Africa hold the top two positions, with England lagging behind as the host nation.
As per the WTC Points Table, Australia leads with a percentage of 70%, followed by South Africa at 60%. Sri Lanka (53.33%), India (52.08%), and Pakistan (51.85%) occupy the subsequent positions.
England’s team is in seventh place with a percentage of 38.6%, while the West Indies (50%) stand in sixth place. New Zealand (25.93%) holds the eighth position, and Bangladesh (13.33%) is at the bottom of the table.
