Basic Common Sense: Iceland Cricket Takes Sly Dig at Bazball After England Suffers 2-Wicket Defeat by Australia in 1st Ashes Test

Hours after England suffered 2-wicket draft in the first Ashes Test against Australia, Iceland Cricket took a sly dig at Ben Stokes and Co.

Notably, Australia chased down 281 on Day 5 of the Test match with just two wickets in hand and few balls remaining.

Usman Khawaja (141 & 65) played spectacular knocks in both innings, while Australian skipper Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon stitched a match-winning partnership for the 8th wicket on Tuesday, to take 1-0 lead in four match bilateral.

After Australia put England’s Bazball brand of playing Test cricket put to rest for a while, Iceland Cricket took a sly dig at Ben Stokes and Co.

Taking to Twitter, Iceland Cricket post series of tweets targeting England Cricket.

In one of his first tweet, Iceland Cricket wrote;

“Bazball 0 – 1 Basic Common Sense.” In an earlier tweet, Iceland Cricket wrote; “Pat Cummins is captain Fantastic.

The Ashes have been set ablaze with drama. And that, everyone is why you don’t declare with 8 wickets down on day one and your best player hitting like a volcano.”

Notably, Ben Stokes received mixed reaction after he declared England’s 1st innings at 398 with two wickets in hand.

Australia and England will not meet on June 28 for the second Ashes Test at Lord’s in London.
