Amitabh Bachchan Buys Land In Ayodhya For 14.5 Crore: Report
AYODHYA: Amitabh Bachchan has acquired a plot in Ayodhya worth ₹14.5 crore, preparing to build a residence ahead of the Ram Mandir ‘Pran Prathista’ ceremony.
The veteran Bollywood actor, originally from Allahabad (now Prayagraj), purchased the plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya developed by Mumbai-based The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), as reported by Hindustan Times.
Sources familiar with the transaction informed HT that Bachchan plans to construct a home spanning approximately 10,000 square feet, valued at ₹14.5 crore.
The Sarayu, scheduled for inauguration on January 22, coinciding with the Ram Mandir ceremony, holds significance for Bachchan, who expressed his eagerness to collaborate with HoABL in creating a residence in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on the same day. Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of HoABL, deemed Bachchan the “first citizen” of The Sarayu, located 15 minutes from the Ram Temple and 30 minutes from the Ayodhya international airport.
Bachchan’s investment focuses on the plotted development within the enclave, complemented by a five-star palace hotel in partnership with Brookfield group-owned Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts.
The entire project is slated for completion by March 2028, coinciding with Ayodhya’s ongoing infrastructure development following the 2019 Supreme Court decision on the Babri Masjid site. This decision led to a surge in land prices in Ayodhya and its outskirts toward Lucknow and Gorakhpur.
