We fell short: Tata Son chairman on Air India pee-shocker

Days after a drunk flyer urinated on an elderly woman on a New York-Delhi Air India flight on November 26, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has admitted that Air India crew’s response should have been swifter.

“Air India’s response should have been swifter. We fell short of addressing this situation the way it should have been,” Mr. Chandrasekaran said. He further assured that Tata Group and Air India stand by the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew with full conviction.

Mr. Chandrasekaran also claimed that his company will review and repair every process to not let any such incident repeat.

Meanwhile, Air India CEO Cambell Wilson apologized for the incident and informed that four cabin crew and a pilot have been de-rostered and the airline is reviewing its ‘policy on services of alcohol in flight.’

In an internal communication, Mr. Wilson also told the staff to be mindful while dealing with such incidents in future and report the authorities following any improper behavior at the earliest.
