Israel Enters ‘New Phase’ Of War, Shifts Focus To Hezbollah In Northern Front
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has announced the beginning of a “new phase” in the ongoing conflict, as the country redirects its military focus towards Hezbollah militants in Lebanon’s northern front.
Speaking to Israeli troops on Wednesday, Gallant emphasized the shift from Gaza, where Israel has been engaged in intense combat with Hamas militants.
Gallant commended the efforts of the Israeli army and security agencies, stating that their achievements have been “very impressive.”
He highlighted the strategic pivot, noting that resources and forces are now being reallocated to confront Hezbollah.
Despite the recent mysterious explosions of electronic devices in Lebanon, Gallant did not address these incidents. Instead, he underscored the need for “courage, determination, and perseverance” as Israel embarks on this new phase of the conflict.
This strategic shift marks a significant escalation in the region’s tensions, following months of intense warfare in Gaza. The move reflects Israel’s broader military strategy and signals a potentially heightened confrontation with Hezbollah.
