In a thrilling conclusion to the men’s basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Steph Curry delivered a standout performance to secure Team USA’s gold medal.
The Golden State Warriors superstar made an indelible mark in his first Olympic final, guiding the U.S. to a 98-87 victory over France.
With the game tightening at 82-79 in favor of the Americans with just under three minutes remaining, Curry took control. He erupted with a series of clutch 3-pointers, scoring on four of the next five U.S. possessions.
His final shot, a long-range heave over two French defenders with the shot clock expiring, was dubbed the “golden dagger” by NBC’s Noah Eagle, extending the lead to nine points in the final moments.
Curry, who had already dazzled in the semifinals with a 36-point effort and nine 3-pointers, finished the final with 24 points, shooting 8-for-13 from beyond the arc.
He also contributed five assists and two steals, solidifying his role as a key player in Team USA’s fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal win.
