NZ vs PNG: Lockie Ferguson Makes History With Four Consecutive Maiden Overs In T20 World Cup
TRINIDAD: In an unprecedented feat, New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson made history on Monday by delivering four consecutive maiden overs in a game against Papua New Guinea.
Ferguson’s remarkable performance also included clinching three wickets during his extraordinary spell.
Ferguson became the first bowler in T20 World Cup history to bowl four consecutive maiden overs. He achieved this milestone at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, during his team’s final tournament matchup against PNG.
Ferguson began his spell in the fifth over of the game, immediately making an impact by dismissing skipper Assad Vala for six runs.
He continued his dominance by taking the wickets of Charles Amini (17 off 25) and Chad Soper (1 off 6). Thanks to Ferguson’s exceptional bowling, New Zealand successfully restricted PNG to 78/10 in 19.4 overs.
