Liquor Police Case Live Updates: SC Grants Interim Bail To Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal
NEW DELHI: In a significant development, the Supreme Court of India has granted interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal until June 1 in the Liquor Excise Policy case.
However, the apex court emphasized that it would issue a detailed order on the matter shortly.
On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) contested the decision to grant interim bail to Kejriwal, asserting that any special treatment to him would violate the principles of the rule of law and equality.
They argued that such concessions could create a disparity, dividing the populace into two categories: ordinary citizens bound by the laws of the land, and politicians who may enjoy exemptions from legal obligations.
