Never My Intention To Hurt Hindu Community: Vikrant Massey Issues Apology
Vikrant Massey recently expressed regret for a past tweet featuring a cartoon depiction of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.
The actor, currently enjoying the success of his latest film, ’12th Fail,’ apologized for the 2018 post, emphasizing that he harbored no intention of causing offense to any community or individuals.
Massey faced criticism recently for sharing a tweet containing an editorial cartoon depicting Sita commenting on Ram Bakhts. After receiving backlash, he promptly deleted the post and issued an apology through a statement. He has since removed the post from his social media.
Reflecting on the incident, Massey stated, “Regarding one of my tweets from 2018, I would like to address a few points: It was never my intention to harm, insult, or show disrespect to the Hindu community. However, upon retrospection, I acknowledge the inappropriateness of my tweet made in jest. The same sentiment could have been expressed without including the cartoon from a newspaper.”
The controversy gained attention when Mumbai-based advocate Ashutosh Dubey shared a screenshot of his conversation with Massey preceding the actor’s apology.
