NDA Ally Nitish Kumar Takes Oath As Bihar CM For 9th Time – WATCH
PATNA: On Sunday, Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for an unprecedented ninth term at the Raj Bhavan.
Accompanying him, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha took their oaths as deputy chief ministers, while Janata Dal (United) leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and Shrawon Kumar were sworn in as cabinet ministers.
Additionally, BJP’s Dr. Prem Kumar, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) president Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman, and Independent MLA Sumit Kumar Singh also assumed roles as cabinet ministers.
Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar resigned from the position of Chief Minister, presenting his letter of resignation to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Raj Bhavan.
Nitish Kumar disclosed his decision during a Janata Dal (United) legislative meeting, citing the deteriorating situation within the Mahagathbandhan alliance. Following his resignation, the BJP promptly expressed support, submitting a letter of endorsement to Nitish Kumar.
In his post-resignation statement, Nitish Kumar revealed his request to dissolve the Mahagathbandhan alliance, emphasizing the alliance’s unfavorable state, leading to his decision to step down and dissolve the current government.
