Today I Am Ashamed: Bollywood Actor Ranveer Shorey Regrets Opposing Ram Mandir Contruction
MUMBAI: On the momentous occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the historic Ayodhya airport and laying the foundation stone for various development projects totaling over Rs 15,700 crore, Bollywood actor Ranveer Shorey took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a heartfelt message.
In a thoughtful note, the actor openly acknowledged his previous opposition to the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, expressing a desire for a monument or hospital in its place to resolve the longstanding conflict between communities.
However, he now reflects on his stance, admitting, “Today I feel ashamed that I was willing to sacrifice righteousness at the altar of peace. Ashamed that I didn’t stand up for maryada purushottam Shri Ram and his values.”
Shorey extends heartfelt congratulations to those who persevered in the battle for truth and justice, expressing a deep sense of remorse. He concludes by seeking forgiveness from Lord Ram and praying for satbuddhi (wise understanding) in the future.
