WATCH: CJI’s ‘Lets Not Forget Those On Border’ Heartwarming Christmas Message
NEW DELHI: In a solemn address during the Christmas celebrations at the Supreme Court, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud paid heartfelt tributes to the four Indian Army soldiers who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist ambush in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch last week.
Justice Chandrachud commended the dedication of the armed forces and expressed profound respect for those who make immense sacrifices in the service of the nation.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, he stated, “We are willing to give up everything, even our lives, as many in our Armed Forces do for the nation. We mourn the loss of four of our Armed Forces members just two days ago in the Poonch encounter.”
This acknowledgment comes at a time when Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande had plans to visit the Rajouri sector on Monday, underscoring the ongoing concerns and heightened awareness following the tragic incident.
The attack, orchestrated by heavily armed terrorists near Thanandi in the Rajouri sector last Thursday, resulted in the loss of four Army personnel and left three others injured. The Chief Justice’s words resonate with a shared sentiment of gratitude and sorrow for the sacrifices made by the brave members of the armed forces.
