BJP Minister’s Photo-Op With Martyr’s Mother Is A Criminal Act: Juhie Singh
By Aakash Srivastava: Senior Samajwadi Party spokesperson Juhie Singh has vehemently criticized Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Yogendra Upadhyay, condemning his insensitivity towards the grieving family of Captain Shubham Gupta.
Upadhyay faced severe backlash after a video surfaced on social media, showcasing him posing with a cheque for the fallen soldier’s family, despite the anguished pleas of the officer’s mother to halt the distasteful ‘photo opportunity.’
The video went viral, triggering a wave of public outrage from diverse segments of society, all united in condemning the cabinet minister’s actions. The Opposition wasted no time in rebuking the BJP minister for engaging in what they termed a callous ‘photo-op.’
“Such insensitivity towards the mother of a martyr is not just unacceptable; it’s tantamount to a criminal act. The officer’s mother can be heard pleading to end this unnecessary photo-op, but BJP leaders persist, callously pressing for more pictures,” SP spokesperson told The Quotes.
Expressing her dismay, Juhie Singh called on the Uttar Pradesh government to take swift and decisive action by removing the minister from his position, emphasizing that anything less than his dismissal would be deemed unacceptable.
“The level of insensitivity displayed in the video is incomprehensible. If the government genuinely wishes to set an example, they must relieve Yogendra Upadhyay of his duties. Allowing him to continue in office would be a grave mistake, and he should be barred from contesting elections in the future,” concluded the senior Samajwadi Party leader in Uttar Pradesh.
