Big Blow For Team India! Sundar Replaces Axar Patel Ahead Of Asia Cup 2023 Final

Colombo: Team India has been dealt with a major blow ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 final on September 17 against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Sundar to replace Axar Patel

As reported by Cricbuzz, Sundar, 23 has been roped in as a cover for Axar Patel, who reportedly suffered niggles during last Super-4 stage game with Bangladesh.

Notably, Sundar is part of the Asian Games squad and is currently in Bengaluru. The Asian Games camp will run till September 23 before the games kick off in Hangzhou, China.

Big Blow For Sri Lanka:

Meanwhile, Maheesh Theekshana, the prominent Sri Lankan spinner sustained right hamstring during the team’s last game against Pakistan, will not be available for the summit-clash against India.

As per fresh reports, a scan confirmed a muscle injury, which forced him out of the field during Pakistan’s innings.

Sahan Arachchige has been roped in as a replacement of Theekshana.
