Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja Joins Kapil Dev To Achieve This Rare ODI Feat

Colombo: Top-seeded Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added yet another feather to his illustrious cap during last Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage game against Bangladesh in Colombo on September 15 (Friday).

While India had already qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 finals, Rohit Sharma-led side suffered their maiden defeat in the competition as Bangladesh registered thrilling 5-run victory in the last over of the game.

Meanwhile, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja etched his name in the history books on Friday by becoming only the second Indian cricketer to mark 200 wickets and over 2000 ODI runs to his name.

World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev was the first Indian cricketer to achieve the feat.

Jadeja picked 200 wickets in 124 innings

In 124 innings, Jadeja has 200 ODI wickets and 2585 runs to his name. In Friday’s game, Jadeja dismissed Shamim Hossain (1 off 5) and conceded 53-runs in 10 overs in the 1st innings. Later, he could only contribute with 7 runs.

Jadeja also became the seventh bowler to take 200 wickets in ODIs. Anil Kumble (337), Javagal Srinath (315), Ajit Agarkar (288), Zaheer Khan (282), Harbhajan Singh (269) and Kapil Dev (251) are the others.

Ravindra Jadeaj-starrer India will play Asia Cup 2023 Final against Sri Lanka on September 17 in Colombo.
