ODI World Cup 2023: Marnus Labuchagne Left Out As Australia Names 18-Member Initial Squad For World Cup

Australia: What came as a major surprise for the cricket fraternity, Cricket Austalia has left out top-seeded Marnus Labuchagne from it’s initial 18-man squad for the ODI World Cup.

The likes of Aaron Hardia, Tanveer Sangha and Nathan Ellis have made the cut. The 18-member squad, which CA announced on Monday, 7 August, will play five ODIs in South Africa followed by their tour of India – scheduled to play 3 ODIs before World Cup.

World Cup: Chief Selector on Pat Cummins

Chief Selector George Bailey said that Pat Cummins has an undisplaced fracture of his left radius which required six weeks rehabilitation.

We expect him to join the squad during the South Africa ODI series. We view a period of enforced rest for Pat as a positive ahead of this important World Cup campaign,” he said.
