New Delhi: In a significant development, India’s economy grew 7.2 percent in 2022-23 from a year ago. Meanwhile GDP growth for the January-March quarter accelerated to 6.1 percent, indicating vital growth in economy. The figures have been estimated by the National Statical Office (NSO) on Wednesday.

As per experts, Asia’s third-largest economy expanded at a faster pacer in the fourth quarter (2022-23) on the back of an uptick in demand, specifically in the services sector, easing commodity prices and government spending.

Responding to the development, Chief Economist Adviser Anantha Nageswaran said that he is expecting an upward revision of 2022-23 GDP numbers. “6.5 percent GDP growth in 2023-24 and see risks evenly balanced,” he was quoted by ANI.
