Chattisgarh babu drained water from reservoir for phone fined Rs. 53,000

Raipur: The Chattisgarh government official who was suspended for pumping out over 41 Lakh liters of water from a reservoir in Kanker in search of his mobile phone has been fined for Rs. 53,092 by the water resource department (WRD).

Food inspector Rajesh Biswas has ordered to collect the fine from the official in question within 10 days.

Biswas had went for a picnic when his phone accidentally fell into water. Although, Biswas claimed that water was drained out after taking permission from WRD sub divisional officer RL Dhivar, but latter completely denied having knowledge of the incident.
