15 States, 100 LS Seats: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra To Start From Manipur Today
The Congress party is launching the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ today, led by Rahul Gandhi. This extensive journey will span 15 states, cover 100 Lok Sabha seats, and kick off in Thoubal, Manipur.
Despite its proximity to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the party emphasizes that this march, led by Rahul Gandhi, is more about ideology than electoral gains.
It stands as a protest against what the Congress terms the “anyay kaal” (unjust period) of the 10-year Modi government.
Rahul Gandhi plans to cover an impressive 6,700 kilometers over 67 days, traversing 110 districts. Starting in the northeastern states, the yatra will wind through the north and central regions, concluding in Maharashtra on March 20.
Uttar Pradesh holds particular significance in this journey, with the march spending 11 days covering 1,074 km, passing through key areas like Amethi, Rae Bareli, and Varanasi.
The extensive presence in Uttar Pradesh, boasting 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, is crucial for the Congress, which seeks to make a stronger impact than in previous elections, where it secured only one Lok Sabha seat.
The yatra, primarily on buses and partly on foot, aims to cover diverse geographical regions, connecting with communities on the ground.
